Pricing for moves between states is based on the weight of the shipment, miles traveled and origin and destination services requested at time of the in-house survey. This includes packing, appliance servicing, valuation and special crating of certain items to add additional protection during transportation.
Intra-Virginia moves also are based on the weight of the shipment, miles traveled (over 30) and selected move options such as packing, valuation, special crating and appliance service if required.
Local moves are priced by the hour. The required manpower, vehicles and selected move option all contribute to the determination of the hourly cost. In addition, Interstate takes into consideration the amount of travel time required between origin and destination, packing and valuation option selected.
Storage, including pickup and delivery, is priced by the number of storage containers required to safely accommodate the household goods. Additional services such as packing, valuation and appliance servicing are added to the base costs of the relocation. The actual storage is based on a 30-day calendar month.
We offer free, in-home surveys scheduled at your convenience with one of our experienced move consultants.
We have a discount guide that we adhere to depending on the size of the shipment and traffic pattern.
We accept personal checks on local moves. All other moves require certified check/money order or cash. We also accept MasterCard and Visa. The driver must receive all monies prior to delivery.
Typically, if you are moving on your own behalf, the cost of the move is solely your responsibility. The term C.O.D. means cash-on-delivery. Although most carriers provide a means of payment through credit card, the loose meaning of C.O.D. is that the move is to be paid for, in full, at the time the goods are delivered to your destination address.
If your company has offered to pay your relocation expenses, it most likely has a Relocation Services office to explain the process to you. Some companies provide a lump sum amount of money that is paid to you to cover your relocation expenses. In this case, you typically are required to make your own moving arrangements with a carrier and make payment directly to it as a cash-on-delivery status move. In other cases, some companies have relocation plans in place to assist you throughout your move, including handling the expenses.
Yes. However, if the actual weight exceeds the estimated weight, we compare Table of Measurements form to the Inventory to make sure no new items were added to the shipment.
